Tuba City Unified School District Tuba City Unified School District Governing Board Appointment

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. — Coconino County Superintendent of Schools Cheryl Mango-Paget is pleased to announce the appointment of Roselyn G. Riggs to the Tuba City Unified School District #15 governing board.

After an in-depth vetting process and an interview with community members, Roselyn G. Riggs will fill the Tuba City Unified School District governing board seat left vacant when board member Myra Begay resigned earlier this year.

Superintendent Mango-Paget administered the Oath of Office to Ms. Riggs on March 24, 2023. Her appointed term will end on December 31, 2024. Roselyn Riggs is a longtime resident of Tuba City. Ms. Riggs is a graduate of Tuba City High School. She obtained an AA degree in Business Administration from Dine College and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. Her MBA in Business was also obtained at University of Phoenix. Ms. Riggs has 14 years’ experience in health care and 12 years’ experience in working with grants.

When asked what prompted her to apply for the governing board seat, Ms. Riggs stated that she values all that teachers do and appreciates the caring support she received while attending Tuba City Unified School District as a student.

Superintendent Mango-Paget encouraged Ms. Riggs to bring sharp questions,
innovative ideas, and fresh energy to the governing board. The superintendent also emphasized the transformative power of a great board to improve public education. She stated that “school boards may be small and local, but they represent perhaps the most important daily civic commitment we as citizens make to our communities, our children and our future.”
