Dear DLES Families:

Here are some updates, reminders, announcements, and information from our school:

Tuba City Unified School District will be closed to in-person learning delivery beginning Tuesday, April 13, 2021 and remain closed until further notice.  Distance/remote learning will continue to be offered to all students.  Please read TCUSD Superintendent, Dr. Risha VanderWey, letter to families:

School Semester
  • Third quarter ranges from January 12, 2021-March 29, 2021
  • Fourth quarter ranges from March 30, 2021-May 27, 2021
Assessment Schedule
  • State Assessments
    • The decision of continuing State Assessments will be postponed for TCUSD until further notice.  The decision was based on communication from Ms. Kate Wright, Chief of Staff from the Arizona Department of Education, the Re-Issuing of the Stay at Home Order from the Navajo Nation, and TCUSD School Closure to In-Person Learning Delivery effective Tuesday, April 13, 2021.
    • Arizona Department of Education will not implement any consequences for LEAs who are unable to administer assessments due to “stay-at-home” or “safer-at-home” orders.
    • iSTEEP Benchmark Testing Window: May 3 – May 14, 2021


  • Please call the school to access your parent Schoology login information.
  • Teachers will begin uploading all Learning Opportunities, Homework, Online Learning Opportunities in Schoology for 3rd quarter and will posted on the website.
  • Zoom will continue to be utilized for all Instructional Zoom Meetings.

Site Council Meetings:

  • All site council meetings will be scheduled every 3rd Tuesday of each month at 4pm local time.
