The Native Language & Culture Program is excited to host its’ first student art show & sale, it is open to all TCUSD #15 students. Students who choose to participate will need to submit their application by March 22, 2024, through the Google form or paper copy. Each student artist will be required to submit one art piece for display for our opening art show event on May 1, 2024. At the time of application submission, student artists will begin to prepare their inventory for the Student Art Show & Sale on May 4, 2024. We will also be informing students about table presentations when selling their art, learning how to price their artwork, and marketing their art.
Our objective is to engage our students through art and support a wide range of art disciplines. This art show & sale is non-juried, and all applicants will be accepted. We hope your child participates and we are looking forward to seeing the talent our students have!
Timeline:
Application Opens: February 29, 2024
Application Deadline: March 22, 2024

Cultural Art Walk: March 29, 2024
Submission art piece (1) due: April 30th, 2024
Opening Art Show: May 1, 2024, 5-7 pm, TCHS Pavilion, 2nd Floor
Main Event: K-12 Student Art Show & Sale, May 4, 2024, 9am-5pm, TCHS Pavilion, 2nd Floor
Categories Accepted:
1. Weaving & Textiles: Quilts, sashes, rugs, wall hangings.
2. Beadwork: All items with beads except pouches, moccasins, and bandolier bags.
3. Pottery: Bowls, plates, canteens, and small figures of animals.
4. Jewelry & Lapidary
5. Pueblo carvings
6. Drawings: Pencil, pen and ink, charcoal, crayon, marker, pastels, scratch board.
7. Paintings: Oil, acrylic, watercolor, full coverage pastels, tempera.
8. Photographs: Plain or enhanced, color, black & white.
9. Collage and Mixed Media: Use of two or more art mediums.
10. Sculptures: Hand-wrought stone, wood, metal, large ceramic, papier mache, cloth, rope basket.
11. Computer Generated Art
12. Graphics: Blocks – tile, wood, or stone; engraving, woodcuts, mono-prints, silk screen.
13. Baskets: fiber, cultural forms.
14. Cultural Items: pouches, moccasins, and bandolier bags. Note: Categories 6, 7, 8, 11 must be mounted on rigid matting, without glass or frame.
