Tuba City Unified School District Honoring Lee Tsinigine for a Lifetime of Service

Tuba City Unified School District proudly congratulates Mr. Lee Tsinigine for receiving the Copper Star Award from the Arizona School Boards Association on October 21, 2025. This award recognizes his long-term commitment and participation in ASBA activities.

Mr. Tsinigine, of the Manygoats clan, born for Deer Water, has dedicated over five decades to education. His career began in the 1970s as a teacher at Tuba City High School, followed by roles as Dean of Students, Administrative Assistant, and Principal at multiple TCUSD schools—including Cameron Elementary, Dzil Libei Elementary (which he opened), Tuba City Elementary, and Tuba City Junior High.

After retiring, he continued his service as a TCUSD Governing Board member, now in his fourth term with 14 years of board leadership.

Mr. Tsinigine remains a strong supporter of our students, staff, and community. Outside of education, he enjoys ranching, which keeps him active and connected to his roots
