Dear TCJHS Parents and Guardians,

As we begin our AASA testing month, we want to take a moment to thank you for the continued support, encouragement, and care you provide your children every day. We know that this time of year can bring a mix of emotions for students and families, and we want to approach it together with positivity, reassurance, and confidence.

Our students will be participating in the Arizona Academic Standards Assessment (AASA), a statewide assessment supported by the Arizona Department of Education. This assessment helps us better understand each student’s progress in English Language Arts and Mathematics and allows us to celebrate their growth while identifying ways we can continue to support their learning journey.

We want to emphasize that AASA is just one measure of your child’s abilities. Our students are so much more than a test score, and this is simply an opportunity for them to show what they have been working hard on all year. We are incredibly proud of their efforts, resilience, and growth.

During the testing weeks, we will focus on creating a calm, supportive, and encouraging environment at school.

You can help at home by:
* Encouraging a good night’s rest
* Providing a healthy breakfast
* Helping your child arrive on time
* Reminding them to take their time and do their best

Most importantly, reminding your child that they are capable and supported can make a big difference in how they feel.

If you have any questions or would like more information about the AASA, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We are here to partner with you every step of the way.

Thank you for being such an important part of our school community and for helping us support your child’s success.

With appreciation,

C. Benally, Ed.Sp. – Principal

Meet The Principal

Hello! My name is Constance Benally, and I am proud to serve as the Principal of Tuba City Jr. High School.  I have been in education for 26 years, with 19 of these years dedicated to the Tuba City Unified School District.  Over the course of my career, I’ve had the privilege of serving in a variety of roles, including school counselor, classroom teacher, dean of students, and now principal.
I am passionate about working with teachers, parents, and students, and I strongly believe that every individual has the potential to become a positive, contributing citizen.  My goal is to help nurture that potential by fostering a supportive and empowering school environment.
I truly love and respect my teachers for their hard work and unwavering dedication to our students. Tuba City Jr. High School holds a special place in my heart, and I find great joy in watching our students grow academically, emotionally, and socially as they become confident and self-sufficient young adults.
I look forward to continuing to serve our school community and working together to ensure success for all our students.
