Welcome to Student Information Systems. Successful schools begin by engaging students and making sure they come to school regularly. Therefore, Tuba City Unified Schools we take attendance seriously, and ask you as parents and students to do so as well.  Let your children know how important education is.  Answers to some common questions can be found below.

Instructional Absence Calculations
Taking attendance is required by the state of Arizona for funding.  For elementary schools, attendance is based on half day, and by taking attendance twice, it lets the attendance office monitor that a student has not left the school during the day, and needs to be marked as partial day absences. Furthermore, if the teacher is not taking attendance in the morning and afternoon, then how are they tracking what students are missing that day, or have left the school permanently for that matter? And finally, by the Arizona State Legislation, and by the Arizona Department of Education, it is required of their employment:
