TCUSD Schools Closed Monday, November 2

Good evening, TCUSD Family,
All TCUSD schools will be closed tomorrow, Monday, November 2, 2026, for a mud day due to saturated ground conditions and concerns about safe travel throughout our district.
The ground is already saturated from recent rainfall, and additional rain is forecast through this evening, with showers possible into the early morning hours. These conditions create concerns for our unpaved roads, bus routes, and the roads families and staff use to reach school or designated pickup locations. Additional rainfall on already wet ground can increase runoff, cause water to collect in low-lying areas, and make muddy roads more difficult to travel safely.
Although the weather is expected to improve tomorrow, clearing skies do not mean our roads will be dry or safe when buses and families begin traveling early in the morning. The ground needs time to drain and dry, and conditions may vary considerably across the communities we serve.
We also recognize that modified bus routes do not resolve every concern. Students and families must still be able to safely reach alternate pickup locations, and we must consider the entire trip from home to school.
The safety of our students, staff, and families comes first. We are sharing this decision tonight to give everyone as much time as possible to make arrangements for tomorrow.
Please avoid flooded roads and washes, use caution around muddy areas, and continue to monitor district communications for updates regarding Tuesday, November 3.
Thank you for your patience, flexibility, and continued support of our students and schools. We know a closure affects families and staff, and we appreciate everyone working together to keep our TCUSD community safe. Stay safe, Warriors.
Stronger Together,

Mud Day: Employee Schedule and Leave Reminders:
Good evening, TCUSD Family,
I wanted to follow up with a few reminders about employee schedules for tomorrow’s Mud Day, Monday, November 2.
For our 11- and 12-month employees, tomorrow remains a scheduled workday. If you choose to take the day off, please submit a leave slip following our regular procedures.
Our 9- and 10-month employees will make up the missed day at a later date if need be. We will share the make-up schedule once those details have been finalized.
These expectations also apply to classified staff based on your assigned 9-, 10-, 11-, or 12-month work calendar.
I know weather-related closures can bring questions about schedules and leave. Thank you for your patience, flexibility, and understanding. If you have questions about your assigned work calendar or submitting leave, please reach out to your supervisor or Human Resources.
Please stay safe and thank you for all you do for our students and one another. I appreciate you!
