Important Weather Update: Early Release Today and Closure Tomorrow

Good morning, Warriors!
Out of an abundance of caution, and with the safety of our students, staff, and families as our top priority, TCUSD will have a Mud Day tomorrow, Thursday, October 22, 2026. All schools and district offices will be closed.
For clarification, a Mud Day is a weather-related school closure due to road conditions that may make travel unsafe for our students and staff, particularly those traveling on dirt and unpaved roads. With the recent moisture and additional precipitation in the forecast, we want to be proactive rather than put anyone at unnecessary risk.
As a reminder, today is an early release day for students, with dismissal times as follows:
- Elementary Schools: 11:30 a.m.
- Junior High School: 11:45 a.m.
- High School: 12:00 p.m.
With another round of weather expected to move into our area around 2:00 p.m. today, staff may leave at 1:30 p.m., provided students have been safely dismissed and necessary responsibilities have been completed.
I know weather conditions can change quickly, and I want to make sure everyone has the opportunity to get home safely before conditions potentially worsen. At the end of the day, the safety and well-being of our Warrior family will always come first.
I also want to give a special thank you to our transportation, maintenance, facilities, and school teams for everything they have done throughout these weather conditions. I know situations like this require extra work, flexibility, and patience, and I truly appreciate everyone's efforts.
Please take your time traveling home, be safe, and enjoy the extra time with your families.
Thank you for everything you do for our students and for one another. We are truly Stronger Together!
