Monday Motivation: Homecoming Week
Good morning, TCUSD Family,
It’s Monday, and it’s Homecoming Week! There is just something different about Homecoming. The activities, the competition, the school spirit, seeing former students and families come back, and watching our kiddos take pride in being Warriors. It reminds us that a school district is more than buildings, classrooms, and schedules. It is a community. And that is my motivation for us this week: take a minute and enjoy it.
Education moves fast. We are always thinking about the next deadline, the next meeting, the next problem that needs solved, or the next thing on our list. Sometimes we get so focused on what is next that we forget to appreciate what is happening right in front of us. This week, look around. Watch our kiddos participate. Support our staff who are putting in extra hours. Show up when you can. Wear the green and gold. Laugh a little. Have some fun. And remember that these are the moments our students will talk about years from now.
Not every meaningful moment in education happens during a lesson or shows up in a data report. Sometimes it happens at a pep rally, on a field or court, building a float, walking in a parade, or simply feeling like you are part of something bigger than yourself. That sense of belonging matters.
So, as we start Homecoming Week, let’s bring some energy, take care of each other, and make it a great week for our kiddos, because long after they forget the score of a game or who won a competition, they will remember how it felt to be a Warrior.
