Motivation Monday - Welcome Back TCUSD Family!

Good Monday Morning, TCUSD Family!
Welcome back!
I hope each of you had an opportunity to rest, recharge, and spend time with the people who matter most this summer. Today marks the official beginning of a new school year, and I couldn't be more excited to welcome each of you back to the Tuba City Unified School District. There is something special about this time of year. Campuses begin to come alive; classrooms are filled with possibility, and the excitement of a new beginning reminds us why we chose this profession. A new school year offers each of us a fresh opportunity to make a difference in the lives of our students, our families, and one another. Last week I shared that championships are not built on game day; they are built every day. Today, that preparation begins to take center stage.
This week is about coming together as one team. It is about reconnecting with colleagues, learning together, preparing our classrooms and campuses, refining our craft, and ensuring that every detail is in place before our students arrive next Monday. Every lesson you plan, every classroom you prepare, every bus you inspect, every meal you organize, every floor you clean, every technology issue you resolve, and every family you welcome contributes to something much bigger than us. It creates an environment where every student can succeed. This Wednesday, we will officially kick off the year together at our District Convocation. I truly can't wait to celebrate with all of you. It will be an opportunity to reconnect, recognize the incredible people who make this district great, and unite around our shared mission and vision.
Then, one week from today, everything changes. The hallways will be filled with laughter. Classrooms will come alive with curiosity. School buses will carry the most precious cargo in our community. And the reason we have spent countless hours preparing this summer will walk through our front doors. Never forget that what you do matters.

...have the power to change the trajectory of a child's life. As legendary coach John Wooden once said:
"Make each day your masterpiece."
Let's make this week exactly that. Let's prepare with purpose, support one another, and continue building a culture where Kids Come First in every decision we make. Thank you for your heart, your dedication, and your commitment to excellence. It is truly an honor to serve as your superintendent, and I am incredibly excited about what we will accomplish together this year. Here is to an amazing first week back and an outstanding 2026–2027 school year!

Stronger Together.
