Let's Tell Our Story and Celebrate Our Warriors!

Good morning, TCUSD Family!
I want to share something with all of you that I am really excited about! One thing I have learned throughout my career is that there are incredible things happening in our schools every single day. Sometimes we get so busy doing the work that we forget to stop, recognize it, and celebrate it! Well, I want us to change that! The Arizona Rural Schools Association (ARSA) has launched an initiative called Voices From Arizona Rural Schools, and I think this is a wonderful opportunity for our TCUSD family.
This initiative gives students, teachers, and school leaders across rural Arizona an opportunity to share their experiences, celebrate their successes, and tell the stories that make their schools special. And I can tell you this: We have some GREAT stories to tell right here at TCUSD! From the amazing things happening in our classrooms to the dedication of our teachers, support staff, administrators, and students, there is so much to be proud of. I would love to see our Warriors represented in this initiative! The attached document explains how teachers, school leaders, and 11th- and 12th-grade students can submit their original stories for consideration. Selected stories will be shared across ARSA's platforms, giving others throughout Arizona an opportunity to see the great things happening in our rural schools.
But I also want us to take this one step further! I want us to make a commitment to celebrating each other right here at TCUSD. If something great is happening in your classroom, department, or school, I want to hear about it! If you see a colleague going above and beyond, share it! If our students are accomplishing something special, let's recognize them! Please email me directly with your stories! They don't have to be fancy or lengthy. Just tell me what is happening and why it matters. You can even share a picture if you have one, and the appropriate permissions are in place. I would love to begin highlighting more of these stories through our district communications because I want our entire TCUSD family and community to see the incredible work happening across our district. And here's something I really believe: We don't have to wait for someone else to tell our story. We can tell it ourselves!
Every person in this district plays an important role in the success of our students. Whether you work in a classroom, office, cafeteria, bus, maintenance department, or anywhere else across TCUSD, your work matters, and your story matters. I want us to be a district that celebrates our successes, recognizes one another, and takes pride in the work we do each day. I am proud to be part of this TCUSD family, and I want the rest of Arizona to see what I get to see every day. We have a story worth telling, and we have so much worth celebrating! Thank you for everything you do for our students and for one another. Let's keep building something special together! Have a MARVELOUS Monday, Warriors!
