FLAGSTAFF — Miss Tuba City Elementary School (TCES) Princess Paulita Whitesinger brought holiday spirit to residents of The Peaks Senior Living Community on Saturday, Dec. 20, performing traditional Christmas songs and distributing gifts collected as a service project.

The Ranch Music Ministry, a Navajo singing group from Leupp, opened the celebration with Christmas carols including “Away in a Manger,” “O Holy Night” and “Hark the Herald Angels Sing” performed in both Navajo and English.

Whitesinger, a fourth-grader, then sang traditional English-language Christmas songs translated into Diné Bizaad, accompanied by her brother Douglas Whitesinger, who provided percussion and hand motions.
