Greetings Parents and Guardians,

I am writing to share an important update from last month’s board meeting. I, Ms. Kayla Hanks, have been appointed as Acting Principal of our elementary school. I will be overseeing our students, staff, and teachers until the principal position is permanently filled. I strongly believe in our mission, vision, and motto. I want to introduce myself and reassure you that together, we are working toward our overall goal of increasing student achievement by 10%.

To help us reach this goal, I’d like to remind parents and guardians of the following:

1. Student Attendance – Attendance is vital to your child’s success. While absences for illness or family emergencies are understandable, please avoid unnecessary absences. Each day missed is a full day of new knowledge lost, and catching up can be challenging. Teachers typically have only 4–5 days to teach a reading standard, so every day counts.

2. Student Illness – For the health and safety of all, please keep your child at home if they are sick.

3. Concerns About Students – Please address concerns with your child’s teacher first. Building a positive, respectful relationship with your child’s teacher helps ensure clear communication and support for your child.

We are committed to keeping our students safe and helping them reach high expectations in their learning environment.
