Dear DLES/THES Parents/Guardians,
I hope this letter finds you well. As we approach the end of the school year, I want to take a moment to inform you about the upcoming AASA State Testing that your child will be participating in. The AASA (Arizona’s Academic Standards Assessment) statewide achievement test is a crucial assessment that helps us evaluate the progress and growth of our students in Grades 3-5 and provides valuable insights into the effectiveness of our educational programs.
The Oral Reading Fluency (ORF) test will be assessed during the regular AASA testing window for students in Grade 3.
The Arizona Science Test (AzSCI) will be administered to students in Grade 5 on March 26, 2024.
It’s important to note that this assessment is required for all students in Grades 3-5, and their participation is vital in ensuring accurate and meaningful results.
Here are a few ways you can help:
1. Ensure your child is present on testing days.
2. Encourage your child to get plenty of rest the night before testing.
3. Ensure your child eats a healthy breakfast on the morning of the test.
4. Avoid checking out your child early from school on testing days.
5. Reassure your child that you believe in their abilities and that you’re proud of their efforts.
