Welcome to 2nd Grade
We follow the Beyond Textbooks Curriculum which includes the Common Core standards for Balanced Literacy and Balanced Math.
Grading Policy & Grading Scale
- Classwork is worth 40% of the Quarter Grade
- Friday Formatives are 50% of the Quarter Grade
- Homework is 10% of the Quarter Grade.
Arizona’s English Language Arts Standards for Second Grade
- Independently and proficiently read and understand a variety of literature from multiple cultures
- Identify key characteristics of literature
- Describe the overall structure of a story or poem
- Ask and answer questions, such as who, what, when, where, why, and how, to show understanding of a story or poem
