English Language Learner

The English Language Learners’ (ELL) classroom is designed for students to become proficient in the aspects of all languages. In ELL, students work on components of languages that help them to communicate in the real-world. The aspects of language – reading, writing, listening, speaking, grammar, and vocabulary – are necessary to meet the demands and complexity of content in math, science, and social studies. ELL students practice these skills in order to develop their understanding of how language works and how information is shared. At TCUSD, we aim to provide English Language Learners with assistance in navigating the English speaking world. We encourage students and families to communicate together and with the teacher to help the students succeed.
