Spaghetti & Meatballs (2-Day Event) March 4 & 5

Hosted by TCHS Culinary Teacher Mr. Sauter

Let’s make spaghetti and meatballs!

Meatball ingredients

  • 1 pound of beef, (80/20 is best but feel free to use what you have)
  • 1 pound ground pork (Use all beef if it’s easier or you prefer all beef)
  • 1 cub breadcrumbs (any type is fine of you can use 2 slices of sandwich bread)
  • ¼ cup milk (or water)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 bunch of parsley
  • 1 box of fresh basil
  • 1 Large yellow onion
  • 1 head of garlic
  • Dried “Italian” herbs like oregano, thyme and/or rosemary
  • Salt and pepper
  • Dried red pepper (optional)
  • Parmesan cheese (at least a half cup)

This recipe is easy to make and delicious. Don’t let the long list of ingredients scare you. Once you make this a few times, you won’t even need a recipe any more.

Sauce and Pasta

  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • TWO 28 ounce cans of whole peeled tomatoes (If you like sauce that’s less chunky, used “crushed” tomatoes
  • 1 small can of tomato paste
  • 1 or 2 pounds of spaghetti (1 pound feeds about four people)
  • Gear List
  • Big mixing bowl
  • Baking sheet
  • Tongs
  • Pot for spaghetti
  • Knife and cutting board
