Last night the Governing Board voted to open schools virtually for the first quarter. This was a tremendously hard decision for them to make. TCUSD will remain following the district calendar as we re-open our doors to staff.
Governor Ducey has extended the school closure until August 17, 2020. The first day for teachers to return to work is August 3, 2020. Tuba City Unified School District will begin providing educational opportunities to our students beginning August 6, 2020 through distant learning and delivering homework packets.

As we plan for the summer and next fall, we are working to build on the innovative solutions and systems that Tuba City Unified School District staff have created to support student learning and relationship building under conditions many of us never imagined.
There are still many unknowns about the future of this virus and its impact on our state. Still, the Arizona Department of Education remains committed to providing the field with as much guidance, support, and clarity as possible.
Our response to COVID-19 and the closure of school buildings has drastically changed the way school instruction is delivered to students, and we know some of these changes may carry into the fall and possibly longer.
